Landmark regional anti-corruption forum for South Asian parliamentarians a great success

Dhaka , Bangladesh – A two day anti-corruption forum that drew parliamentarians from around South Asia concluded today in Dhaka. The Curbing Corruption in South Asia conference, held from July 11 th-12 th, was hosted by the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) in conjunction with the National Democratic Institute-Bangladesh (NDI-Bangladesh) and was funded by the World Bank Institute (WBI).

GOPAC Chair Calls for Action Concerning Zimbabwe

GOPAC Chair John Williams, MP made a statement at the Global Forum V on Fighting Corruption and Safeguarding Integrity ( Johannesburg, South Africa April 3 rd, 2007) on the recent crises in South Africa. Mr. Williams called on the world to “act now, to help the parliament and people of Zimbabwe develop the capacity to hold their government accountable, and to help rebuild the institutions of governance and accountability in Zimbabwe.” FULL STATEMENT

Improving Governance and Fighting Corruption, New Frontiers in Public-Private Partnerships, Brussels, Belgium (March 14 - 15, 2007) This conference, organized by the Government of Belgium in cooperation with  the World Bank and the OECD, will bring together representatives of governments, international organizations, the private sector, and the academic community. GOPAC Chair Speaks at United Nations
