Who Can Become a Member?

Full membership shall be available to the following.

  • Parliamentarians;
  • Former Parliamentarians,;
  • Democratically elected Parliamentarians who have been denied their right to take office.

Organisations: Individuals, donors, NGOs, Supreme Audit Institutions and other organizations that support   or pursue similar objectives as GOPAC or provide funding for its activities upon application can obtain an observer-member status. Benefits of the Membership:

A key objective of GOPAC members is to work together more effectively to align initiatives aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of parliaments in their constitutional roles related to good governance: an appropriate legislative framework; effective oversight of government; and societal learning. In this way parliaments and parliamentarians can be most effective in fighting corruption.

By becoming a GOPAC member you will join us in creating a truly global network for the promotion of accountability, transparency and integrity in governance as well as in creating strong coalitions to promote collective problem solving approaches in finding innovative and practical solutions to fight corruption.


Code of Conduct

a) All members shall behave and conduct their affairs in a manner consistent with the values that GOPAC defends, as well as strive to uphold the integrity of those values.

b) A member must avoid actual, potential and perceived conflicts of interest.

c) A member must report to the organization all actual, potential and perceived conflicts of interest as soon as the member becomes aware of any circumstances that may give rise to a conflict of interest.

d) The evaluation of a breach of the values of the organization will be made by the Board of Directors who shall have full authority to decide on the appropriate sanction that may be imposed in any given case.
