New Zealand GOPAC Chair lodges Ethics Bill in Parliament
New Zealand MP, Ross Robertson has lodged an Ethics Bill for New Zealand parliamentary consideration. After attempts through various sources, Mr. Robertson decided the most effective way to have a debate on the issue was through introduction of a Member’s Bill. Mr. Robertson who is the also chair of the New Zealand GOPAC chapter recently met with the Members Ethics and Parliamentary Privileges Select Committee of the Queensland Parliament to discuss the bill. The bill will promote a Code of Ethics be implemented among Parliamentarians. Introducing this code is said to be the next logical step for increasing the respect for the New Zealand parliament and its parliamentarians through transparency and public access to information about Parliament.
