GOPAC Monitoring Program

GOPAC Launches Preparation of a New Global Plan and Monitoring Report for Parliamentarians and their Key Partners to Combat Corruption

The Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC), in cooperation with its leading Regional Chapters and its Global Task Forces, is gathering information from national chapters to prepare a new Global Plan and Monitoring Report that will be presented and discussed at the next GOPAC Global Conference to be held in Mexico City, 11 - 13 February 2011.

A 'Toolkit for Parliamentarians', developed in partnership by GOPAC and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Oslo and UNODC, provides the platform to gather information from national chapters.

Reports from countries are being managed in three ways:

i) through the leadership of Regional Chapters (e.g. the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC), the Arab Region Parliamentarians Against Corruption (ARPAC), and the Latin American Parliamentarians Against Corruption (LAPAC), that are working directly with their country chapters to complete country reports;

ii) through special GTF meetings and workshops, such as the Accra event noted above, a July event in Paraguay and an upcoming event in Manila for the Southeast Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption (SEAPAC) and other Asian countries; and

iii) an On Line Survey that is being sent to all other GOPAC  members (who’s development was supported by USAID).
