South East Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption - SEAPAC

South East Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption (SEAPAC) was established in Manila, Philippines in the winter of 2005. This non-for-profit organization is devoted to the same main objectives of GOPAC, to bringing together parliamentarians, leaders and other members of civil Society from the South East Asian region to combat corruption, promote transparency, accountability and good governance.

Manila Declaration

Regional Action Plan adopted in Manila, Philippines on April 1, 2005 is a two-year period plan that ends at the next regional conference in Bangkok, Thailand.

The action plan consists of four main components, namely:

1. Institutionalization;
2. Capacity and knowledge building;
3. Reform dialogues; and
4. Ratification of the UN Convention Against Corruption.

Post Conference Report

Held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, the two-day conference of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) and the regional meeting of the Southeast Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption (SEAPAC), aims to equip lawmakers with tools to implement the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).      

 

First Meeting of the Chapter

 

The South East Asian Chapter of GOPAC held its first meeting March 31st to April 1st, 2005 in Manila, Philippines. Over 20 parliamentarians from the region were in attendence where a declaration, constitution and work plan were approved.
