South Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption - SAPAC

The South Asian chapter of GOPAC is currently in the development stage. GOPAC strongly encourages any interested parliamentarians from the region to contact the GOPAC Secretariat regarding membership.

National Chapter in Nepal Marks Anti Corruption Day - December 8th 2007

On December 8th 2007, the Nepalese Chapter of GOPAC joined forces with Pro Public, CIAA and NCAC to mark Anti Corruption Day.  Supreme Court Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri presided over the function along with former Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Chief Commissioner Surya Nath Upadhaya and incumbent officiating CIAA Chief Lalit Bahadur Limbu.

Members of newly registered Nepal Chapter of Global Organization of Parliamentarians against Corruption-Nepal (GOPAC-N) enthusiastically participated in the program.

Government secretaries, I/NGO representatives, journalists and lawyers also took part in the interaction program. Highlighting the need to fight corruption through parliament, GOPAC Nepal Chapter President Honorable MP Jaganath Khatiwada said that GOPAC would now deal with corruption issues and build global solidarity through the parliament.

Landmark regional anti-corruption forum for South Asian parliamentarians a great success

Dhaka, Bangladesh – A two day anti-corruption forum that drew parliamentarians from around South Asia concluded today in Dhaka.   The Curbing Corruption in South Asia conference, held from July 11 th-12 th, was hosted by the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) in conjunction with the National Democratic Institute-Bangladesh (NDI-Bangladesh) and was funded by the World Bank Institute (WBI).
