Objectives
|
|
This one day dialogue aims to achieve several goals:
- raise awareness on vulnerabilities to money laundering and terrorist financing and negative impact of money laundering and terrorist financing on financial and economic development, investment and growth;
- create appreciation and understanding among parliamentarians on international efforts to fight money laundering and financing of terrorism;
- demonstrate how anti-money laundering instruments provide additional instruments in the fight against corruption;
- assess modalities on support by parliamentarians in the global fight against money laundering and terrorist financing; and
- generate discussions on action plans in African countries to set up or improve their AML/CFT systems.
Target Audience
Parliamentarians from African countries while those from other countries are welcome to participate.
