Frequently Asked Questions
Are your services covered by OHIP?

As with most private physiotherapy clinics on Ontario, we are not an OHIP designated clinic for physiotherapy services. However, almost all extended health plans provide coverage for physiotherapy expenses.
Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist?
You do not require a doctor's referral to be treated by a physiotherapist. However, if you have an extended health care plan, your insurer may require a doctor's referral in order to reimburse you for the treatment.
How long is a Physiotherapy treatment?
You can plan for your first visit between 40 min to1 hour long, and subsequent treatments to be aprox. 40 minutes. You will have 20 minutes of one-on-one time with your physiotherapist at each session. We do not charge by the hour - we charge by the treatment. When a session is slightly longer or shorter in duration we do not alter our fee.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring comfortable clothes that will allow the therapist to see the area to be treated. Bring a pair of shorts for knee or hip injuries. Bring a tank top or sports bra for shoulder injuries. In addition, please bring your physiotherapist referral if you have one, as well as copies of relevant medical test results (i.e. x-ray, MRI reports).
How many visits do I need?
This is highly variable. You may need one visit or you may need months of care. It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your problems and your compliance with the treatment. Our average duration is 6-8 visits.
Who will see me?
You will be evaluated by one of our licensed and highly trained physiotherapists and he/she will also treat you during subsequent visits. Unlike some clinics, where you see someone different each visit, we feel it is very important to develop a one-on-one relationship with you to maintain continuity of care.
How long is my massage?
We offer a variety of treatment times from 30 mins upto 90 minutes. During that time the therapist will take 5-10 minutes to ask you a few questions in order to come up with the best treatment for you.
Do I have to get undressed during my massage?
Massage is best when it's performed skin to skin, but we want you to be comfortable during your treatment and therfore we allow you to judge what degree of undress your comfortable with. You can take off or keep on as much clothing as you like. You will be covered with a sheet at all times and the therapist will only expose the part of the body he/she is working on.
I don't have insurance, but my sister/brother does can you put their name on the bill so I can claim it under their insurance.
No, we will never give you a receipt with someone elses name. Only the person who received the massage will have their name on the receipt for that treatment.
